"We thought at first that this would be a typical Summer Solstice Ritual - Oak King, Holly King, etc., but we changed our minds. We want to send healing energy to the nature spirits of Roxanna and to send energy so that we, The Church of the Spiral Tree, get permission to buy Roxanna and the means to buy Roxanna at the same time. So that is the purpose of tonight's ritual."

Call the elements

East:

"I summon the forces of fire, to burn away regrets and shine your gentle rays upon us for growth."

South:

"I summon the forces of Earth. Let your renewing strength bury all ills and open new paths for us."

West:

"I summon the forces of water to cleanse us of negativity and purify our thoughts."

North:

"I summon the forces of air to blow out the old and bring in the new on your winds of change."

Priestess:

"Dear Mother: We of the fairy faith do gather in ancient rite and renewal of spirit. We do now reaffirm ourselves to the tenets of our faith."

"There should be a sensitivity, a belief, of the spiritual reality behind what we refer to as Nature."

"There should be a sincere love of Earth herself and a desire to communicate with her other children."

"There should be a belief in the individual life of this planet and a certainty that it permeates the whole world."

Priestess:

"Tonight we are gathered here to commune with the nature spirits of Roxanna. We want to spend a few moment visiting with the nature spirits on a personal level and then we want to send them healing energy."

"During our journey, if you meet a faerie who will not give you his/her name, end your visit promptly. When you meet someone on the physical plane who will not tell you their name there is usually something wrong. The same applies to the spiritual plane. Never lightly make an agreement with a faerie. They take commitments seriously, and they are tricksters who often have an unusual view as to what life should be like. You may not want the same goals as they do."

"Seat yourselves. It is time for our journey to begin."

"Focus on the darkness of the mind's eye, the darkness that's automatically there when your eyes are closed."

"See that darkness filled with a glowing green, a Faerie green, a magic glow."

"Feel that magic, green, Fey glow start swirling around you, bathing you in its beauty, bathing you in its magic."

"Enjoy drinking in that magic for a minute."

"Let that Fey power feed you, cleanse you, and give you things you need. Let it work its magic on you."

"Into that green mist call out for a faerie friend. Don't demand a visit, for we do not control the Fey Folk. Invite with warmth, courtesy, good will and good cheer."

"Greet and welcome your visitor with dignity and courtesy. Ask his/her name and his/her need of you. If no name is given, end the visit."

"Visit with your faerie. If you like, ask the visitor for something you need."

"Now ask the faerie what he or she may want from you. Don't necessarily agree to anything, but be courteous."

"Thank him/her for the visit, and for any help you were given."

"Now slowly awaken and open your eyes. When you feel ready stand up."

"After journeying into the other world, you might be in an altered state without realizing it. If you then do something like drive, walk into the dark woods at night, or cook, you could possibly go through a red light, fall down a hill in the darkness, or burn yourself. All because you were off in another world. So after we finish the ritual, try to spend some time consciously focusing on the mundane world by making your mind concentrate on physical things."

"You may feel sharp and alert, and think there is no need for this. Please do it anyway. For one thing, alert as you are, you might be alert only to the Spirit plane. Take the time to become alert to the physical plane. If you are feeling spacey or out there, add body stretches or do some other very physical activity (like the rest of this ritual) that will focus you onto your own body."

"In the Faerie Faith we have a special means of sending energy. We put someone in the center of the circle to be the focus of this energy. This person then sends the energy out to where it needs to go."

(Call for volunteers to be a focus of the energy.)

"Nature spirts and Faeries of Roxanna we have come here tonight to offer you our healing energy. We have enjoyed this place many times in the past but not everyone who has enjoyed you has done good things to and for you. We hope to help re-balance and heal the energies out here. Also due to mundane human reasons, we no longer have free access to this land. Therefore we want to ask you to help to convince the current owner to sell us the land and that the church has the financial means to purchase the land when they decide to give it up. Therefore we will send you the energy to do with as you will. Then we will go in peace."

All join hands around Linda, and begin chanting "Bridget, Bridget" while circling around and sending energy inwards to Linda. When she has received enough energy, she will send it into the earth.

"If you feel the need to further commune with your Faerie friend you may do so after the circle is closed. Be sure to leave a gift for the Faeries. Tobacco, food, drink, etc. Of course if your fairy asked for something different be sure to leave that. Don't be gone to long. We will lock the gate when we leave."
