(Circle is cast using the following words as each circuit is made, till 3 circuits are completed:)
"Once twice thrice, and all around, here I lay a circle down..
Once twice thrice, in time and space, here we stand , in sacred space
Once twice thrice for all to see, the veil is raised, ...so mote it be."

Priest:
"Welcome all of you here. Today we mark Lammas, Lugnassadh, and Loaf Mass. It is the first of the three harvests. It is the harvest of the grains, soon to be followed by the harvest of the fruits, followed finally by the blood harvest of Samhain. But this in many respects is the hardest of the harvests, for it is where we labor in the height of the summer sun. Vast fields to be cut and thrashed, grain to be milled, straw to be laced. Proper portions three, grain for our bread, grain for our livestock, and grain for the next year's sowing to continue the cycle yet once again. Hardest of the harvests for it is the first upon which all others depend...... it is a time of sacrifice, the king Lugh is slain and his blood returned to the fields only to be reborn in the crop of the following year. What do you sacrifice this year, to make for greater "harvest" in your future?..."
"Few of us are still farmers who tend the fields or harvest the grain...but we all work through the year to produce some kind of crop...some kind of reward for our efforts...What is it you harvest this year?...is it a good one, or has your harvest been poor? And from this seed of truth, what will you plant for harvest in the following year?"
(Each person is given a stalk to take home)
"To each of you a gift, 3 stalks of grain...wheat, barley, and rye..laced with a red cord...three grains, three wishes for luck health, and prosperity, new beginnings from the old,..bound together from the sacrificial blood of the corn god...may next years "harvest" whatever you make it to be...be a good one."
(Ale and bread shared)
"Let us share in a drink, the dark ale of beer, from the grains it is made, it makes a fitting drink...may you never thirst."
"Sweet breads made from the grains of harvest...may they nourish both body and soul..may you never hunger."
(The Corn Dolly is carried around to each. He has jingles that "hang...")
"Round to each of you he visits..the Corn Dolly, greet him and smile, make a wish and jingle his tinkles...ring them thrice and luck is yours! Ring them sweetly and know he smiles with you!"
(A dance is called for)
"For a time let us all dance a dance of life together, ...Male to Female and Male back again...ever round the circle goes. the scarf dance..."
"Close the circle,
As we come, So we go..
As we love, So we grow
As above....So Below...."
"Circle opened, yet never broken So mote it be..."
Enjoy the food and friends.....!
